The legendary Italian composer, Ennio Morricone who composed the songs for Hateful Eight and even won as Oscar for it has some scathing opinions on the movie’s director. He reportedly labelled Quentin Tarantino a cretin (fancy word meaning stupid person) and even claimed that all his films were trash. In his latest interview, the composed criticized Quentin Tarantino on two main counts. The interview further stated that there was no way that The Hateful Eight director could make his way into the pantheon of great directors. But it’s not only Tarantino who got some hate from Morricone who also bashed out against the Oscars ceremony.

Quentin Tarantino Slammed Publicly

In the latest interview published in the December edition of the German-language version of Playboy, Morricone claimed that the Hateful Eight director had a chaotic working style. Not just that, but he’s reported to have said that Quentin Tarantino lacked originality. The veteran musician alleged that the man was not even a director. He continued saying that he wants everything done at the last minute and speaks without thinking. Ennio Morricone also recalled that he refused to put up with all this behavior the last time they worked together.

Morricone who has credits on approximately 500 movies added that Quentin Tarantino does not even rank in the list of great directors. And that the man is a cretin. He added that he only steals other people’s ideas. And putting them together does not make him a director in any way. While comparing Tarantino to other legendary directors, Morricone alleged that,

He is nothing compared with the Hollywood greats, such as John Huston, Alfred Hitchcock or Billy Wilder. They had class. Tarantino simply recooks old dishes.

However, the Hateful Eight composer’s hate did not just end there. He took aims at the Oscars as well saying that he was in pain sitting at the long ceremony. And the only thought that made him happy was the fact that he would soon be getting away from the boring ceremony.

This just in! Playboy Germany admits that it misquoted the musical composer.
