It’s MET Gala week and that means celebrities rush to New York. However, Nicki Minaj is not attending the event this year. In a tweet, she revealed that the event requires the guests to get vaccinated. But she will not be forced to get it. After her tweets went viral, Twitter came for her in full force. People are criticizing and bashing her for being an anti-vaxxer. In response to that, Minaj is making things worse by justifying her comments.
Earlier today, Nicki Minaj revealed herself to be an anti-vaxxer
Since the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout the world, experts have been working on making the best vaccines. One of the most effective vaccines, Pfizer has helped in saving numerous lives. Every public place, event, and gathering requires people to get vaccinated. Similarly, the MET Gala 2021 organizers asked the guests to be fully vaccinated to attend the event. While all the guests attending have complied with the rules, Nicki Minaj has taken a separate route. In a tweet, she confessed to not getting the vaccine or following the rules. The Bang Bang singer wrote:
They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one
Furthermore, Nicki Minaj made matters worse when she claimed that vaccine makes you impotent. While narrating an incident about her cousin, she wrote:
My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied
After her statements went viral, Twitter went berserk
Once again, Twitter users did what they do best. People started criticizing Nicki Minaj for her opinions about the vaccine. While some stated facts, others came up with brilliant memes. Needless to say, it forced Nicki Minaj to reply and justify her tweets. One user made a sarcastic comment about Minaj’s impotent theory and wrote:
Why are we out here listening to clinical scientific research when Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend is RIGHT THERE!
At the same time, writer and journalist, James Felton poked fun at her tweet about her cousin’s friend and said:
Imagine telling your friend your flimsy alibi for your STD, saying “wait promise me you won’t tell Nicki Minaj about this” then waking up one day and doctors and the international media is fact-checking your humongous testicles and floppy peen
Meanwhile, another user expressed her anger at Anaconda singer for spreading misinformation.
On the other hand, another user urged people to not listen to rich people and get vaccinated.
Apart from criticizing Nicki Minaj, Twitterati came forward with hilarious memes. Mostly, they targeted her tweets about her cousin’s friend.
Despite the criticism, Minaj did not back down from her comments and kept defending herself. Throughout, she picked fights with people and made the situation worse. Needless to say, she got more attention than MET Gala itself.
