Working In Harry Potter Was Easier For Jude Law Than Captain Marvel
As Captain Marvel gears up for a release next spring, ardent fans grow anxious as to uncover the plot of the forthcoming film. Actor Jude Law; however, has some devastating news for the eager fans. He clearly states that the audience should not expect any information until the movie hits the theaters. While gracing The Late Night Show, the actor told host Stephen Colbert that Marvel Studios has imposed strict security measures to keep the plot from leaking. Jude Law also compared the plot encryption of Marvel movies with the Harry Potter films.
Jude Law On The Late Night Show With Stephen Colbert
The actor told the host that a special person was hired to ensure that his costume in the movie does not get exposed before the public. Though, Stephen Colbert persuaded Jude to reveal details about the character he is playing in the movie. However, Jude Law remained tight-lipped about the upcoming Marvel movie. Moreover, he left no stone unturned in guarding the integrity of the script.
Jude Law elaborated on the controlled set atmosphere “On set, they would say, ‘Mr. Law, we’re ready for you.’ And you’d step out in your suit and he’d be like, ‘Put the cloak on! Put the cloak on! Hide! Put the hood up!’ I mean, everywhere you went. My children visited the set and they were running after them. ‘Sign the NDAs! Sign the NDAs! Who are these guys?’ It was tight! Scary”
Things Are Easier On Harry Potter’s Fantastic Beasts’ Set
Jude Law will also star in the upcoming Harry Potter Universe movie, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.” Jude elaborates that the security arrangements on both the sets depart with a cultural difference. That is, there is British style control on one set and American style control on another. While on the Harry Potter sets there will be no repetitive mentions about securing the privacy of the story. It’s rather naturally assumed, and even if anyone does malign the secrecy there is an initial warning followed by a cold blooded murder. The case; however, is different from Marvel studios. Jude Law expressed that on the sets of Captain Marvel there would be people running after him and other crew members reminding them about the dire consequences of a script leak.
A British- American Difference
“I think it might be this British-American difference. With Fantastic Beasts, they’re like ‘We assume you’re not going to give away any of these secrets. And if you do, we’re going to tell you not to again and we may quietly kill you,” he said. “In Marvel, it’s like, ‘Don’t you…. ever tell anybody about this!’’
In the past, Marvel Studios has seen a precipitous decline in box office numbers owing to script leaks. Harry Potter; however, remained immune to potential spoilers that were available ahead of the movies’ release. Jude Law feels that this is the reason behind the difference in the level of securities on the two sets. Captain Marvel will hit theaters on 8th March, 2019. Fantastic Beasts will; however, be available soon main on November 16th, 2018.
