Kim Kardashian Fights for Prison Reform
The reality television star and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian is once again campaigning for prison reform. Previously, she has been an active supporter of improving prison policies and has picked out prisoners to campaign for their release. In fact, Kim Kardashian West even met with President Trump to request the release of Alice Johnson- the 63-year old woman sentenced to life in prison for her minor role in drug trafficking. Now, Kim has picked up Kevin Cooper- a convicted murderer for her latest campaign. Although Cooper is located at the same prison that Kim recently visited, there is no proof of whether she met with him or not. Let’s just see if the reality television star decides to pump this case to the White House as well.
Kim Kardashian Visits San Quentin Prison
For several hours on Thursday, Kim Kardashian West visited the notorious San Quentin prison secretly. Apparently, Kevin Cooper- a convicted murderer that Kim is trying to set free is located there. During the several hours of her visit, she met with prison staff and other inmates at the facility. A source revealed that Kim Kardashian planned this visit to discover more about the programs offered to detainees.
There is no information as to whether Kim met with Kevin Cooper or not. But the way she has been defending him is all over the internet. She has been asking the Governor to intervene and add Kevin Cooper on the list for his legacy of smart, fair and thoughtful criminal justice reforms. She also retweeted a published article which was titled ‘Justice Delayed, With a Life on the Line’.
Apparently, Kevin Cooper is charged with a quadruple murder back in 1985. Although during the appeal, it was found that the blood on the murderer’s shirt was Kevin’s. But it had some test tube contamination in it. However, that made no difference in Kevin’s case. There were other witnesses who say that there were three white men at the crime location too. But all the evidence was neglected and Kevin Cooper was taken in custody.
Apart from Kim Kardashian, others have also intervened in this matter. Previously, when Kim campaign for Alice Johnson, she got Trump to grant her clemency. People gave Kim credit for Alice’s release. Now, let’s wait to see the fate of Cooper!
