Lil Nas X comments “nah he tweakin” underneath Tony Hawk’s blood skateboard post, and now the whole internet is copyng him
Internet is abuzz with a new meme! Wherever you see, ‘Nah he tweakin’ will greet you with open arms. And who’s to blame? One and only, Lil Nas X. It all began when Tony Hawk collaborated with Liquid Death to sell blood-painted skateboards. However, one small comment from Montero (Call Me ByYour Name) singer blew up the internet. Now it’s everywhere and no one knows how to stop it.
If you’re confused about the meme, here is a little background.
In March, Lil Nas X teamed up with MSCHF, a New York-based art collective, to launch a modified pair of Nike’s Air Max 97s. However, there was a little twist to it. Interestingly, the shoes were termed Satan Shoes and were filled with human blood. Only 666 pairs were made and priced at $1018. When the news came out, Nike was outraged. Not only did they condemned the message of Lil Nas X, but they also filed a lawsuit against MSCHF for using their product. This resulted in a temporary block to the sale and distribution of the show. At the same time, Sun Goes Down singer received major backlash and hate on the internet.
Recently, Tony Hawk launched skateboards infused with his own blood
In collaboration with Liquid Death, Tony Hawk announced his own line of skateboards. However, it instantly raised eyebrows when the details were shared. In a tweet, Liquid Death announced:
Yes, there is actually @tonyhawk’s real blood in these skateboards. And yes, we sterilized it first. Own your very own piece of the Birdman today. But act fast! There are only 100 of them.
According to the reports, Hawk’s blood was mixed with the paint used for the skateboards. While the news did make a lot of people queasy, it particularly did not sit well with Lil Nas X.
After reading the news, Lil Nas X made a sneaky comment which has since gone viral
When the news came out, Lil Nas X did not hold back. Many noticed the similarities between Hawk’s campaign and Lil Nas X’s shoe campaign. Both involved blood. However, Industry Baby singer had to face so much bashing. Therefore, when he saw the news, he commented:
nah he tweakin
While it is unclear what exactly he meant, the comment was received well by people. Since then, everyone has started writing the same comment on every other post. From Instagram to Twitter to Facebook, it’s everywhere.
Shortly after the comment went viral, memes arrived.
Instantly after Lil Nas X posted the comment, people started copying it. It was posted everywhere on Instagram, under every post. So much so, that many people thought their accounts are hacked. However, once everyone knew the context of it, they made some hilarious memes.
Jokes apart, Lil Nas X had something important to say about Tony Hawk’s skateboard campaign.
In a tweet, he reminded people about the time when he was under fire for using blood. At the same time, Nas talked about the absence of outrage towards Hawk. He wrote:
now that tony hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? and maybe u were mad for some other reason?
As is the norm with social media trends, this too will be short-lived. However, one has to give credit to Lil Nas X for always starting an interesting trend.
