John Wick 4 recruits another Marvel star in cast
The upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4 is beginning to take more and more shape. The movie has already announced the recruitment of a few actors in its cast. But now, they’ve hired a Marvel star among their ranks. And not just any star, but someone who has worked in Thor: Ragnarok, Daredevil, The Punisher, X-Men, and whatnot. It is none other than Clancy Brown!
The rich CV of John Wick 4 actor Clancy Brown
You can be forgiven for not knowing who Clancy Brown is, but rest assured that he has a huge CV before entering John Wick 4. He was the main villain in The Punisher, meanwhile starring in Marvel’s Daredevil, and voicing X-Men villain Mr. Sinister, Taskmaster, Red Hulk, Odin, and many more superhero-related projects. One role that you may have forgotten is that he voiced Surtur in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok. And that’s just from Marvel.
He’s also worked extensively in DC as well. He played the role of General Wade Eiling in The Flash and Arrow, voiced Lex Luthor in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League/Unlimited. He even worked in the Star Wars Universe as Darth Maul’s brother Savage Oppress in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Therefore, needless to say, Clancy Brown is more than aware of what is needed to work for a big franchise and will not have a problem fitting in John Wick 4. And the director Chad Stahelski agrees too, who told Deadline:
I have been a fan of Clancy Brown’s since I can remember. To have him be a part of this project is an honor. He will make a perfect addition to the World of John Wick!
For now, however, we don’t know which role will he be playing in John Wick 4. But now, he is part of a star-studded cast with many high-profile actors other than Keanu Reeves. This includes Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Lance Reddick, and Ian McShane. And with everything in order, John Wick 4 is set for a release on May 27, 2022.
