Just when the world needed some happy news, Tan France announced that he is a dad! The Queer Eye star and his husband, Rob, welcomed a baby boy via surrogacy. He announced this exciting news with his friends and fans through Instagram.
Although the baby was born in July, Tan France had a valid reason to delay the announcement
In an Instagram post, he shared the news of his son’s birth who was born on 10th July. While explaining why he held back the news for so many days, he wrote:
Give our son a warm welcome. Ismail France, born July 10th. He came 7 weeks early, so he’s been in the NICU [newborn intensive care unit] for the past 3 weeks. But, today, we finally got to bring him home. We love him so, so much. Like, fully obsessed. Our surrogate is doing so great, post labor, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the greatest gift in our lives.
Instantly after this post, people poured their love and expressed their joy for the new parents. More than one million people liked Tan France’s post including Gigi Hadid.
Earlier this year, he posted about expecting a child after many years of wait.
Although Tan France has been married to his husband for over a decade, they did not have kids before. In April, the fashion guru posted a shirtless picture of himself holding a sonogram. He shared the news that he and Rob were expecting their first child after waiting for many years. Before starting their parenthood journey, the couple also went on a ‘babymoon’ to Iceland.
Although Ismail was just born few weeks ago, Tan France has already made many plans for his child’s future.
In an interview with Lilly Singh, Tan France expressed his joy over the baby news and talked about the future. He revealed that although he has no nursery ready for the baby, he has already planned many aspects of his baby’s life. He said:
Here’s the thing. I have had a name picked out for my son since I was like 16 or 17, possibly even earlier — I’ve always known.
At the same time, Tan France knows exactly what kind of accent he wants his child to speak in. While talking about it, he said:
I’m now officially an American. I have been for a year, and I’m very proud to be an American. Do I want my children to speak in an American accent? No, I don’t. They will because they’re going to be raised here. However, I just think the British accent sounds so nice, and a British accent holds so much weight in this country. There is no way that I, some random Pakistani boy from a small town in England, would be in entertainment or on Netflix now if it wasn’t for this stupid accent. . . . So every summer, we’re going to go to England so they learn my language.
Although we do not have clear pictures of the baby yet, he will surely have his dad’s charm and amazing fashion sense. Congratulations to the happy couple!
