Pamela Anderson Slams #MeToo Movement
Pamela Anderson has slammed the #MeToo movement. She calls it a bore and also remarks that her comments might eventually lead to her death. Despite being a feminist, Pamela Anderson is not thrilled about the #MeToo movement. The former Baywatch celebrity finds the #MeeToo movement ‘too much’. The movement that sprung up last year, following allegations against Harvey Weinstein. It subsequently led several women to come out and testify against sexual predators and harassers. The movement has momentum today and is helping in the eradication of sexual crimes. Pamela Anderson; however, has chosen to speak her own mind, against the movement.
Pamela Anderson Blames Victims Over #MeToo Movement
Pamela mentioned that her mother had taught her not to go out with strangers. Let alone hanging around with random people in a hotel room. The 51-year-old actress mentioned on an Australian TV show that feminism had ‘gone too far’. She calls the #MeToo movement ‘the third wave of feminism’. She feels it is a bore, and it simply paralyzes men.
Not The First One
Unfortunately, Pamela Anderson is not the first person who has criticized the #MeToo movement. In the past months, big wigs like Melanie Sykes and Lindsay Lohan have also spoken against the movement.
Melanie; in fact, said:
“If a man can’t even say you look nice anymore, I think that’s bulls**t. Because that’s just human interaction, and where would we be without being able to admire another human being?”
Meanwhile, Mean Girls fame Lindsay Lohan said:
“I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women. You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention. That is taking away from the fact that it happened.”
No wonder these reactions faced widespread criticism. People deem Sykes’s attitude towards sexual harassment as ‘ignorant’ and associate him as ‘the part of the problem’.
Pamela Anderson Defends Her Claims
Pamela was horribly unapologetic about her claims. On the show, ’60 minutes’ Anderson stated that she is not apologetic for being true to herself. She was proud to not be politically correct,
Back in 2016, Pamela Anderson had co-written a piece for the Wall Street Journal, in which she spoke out about the dangers of pornography, calling it a “terrible addiction.”
Pamela Anderson is definitely going to face a massive backlash for her claims.
