Let’s be honest, we all loved Loki. Even those who disliked it and had difficulty digesting the ending definitely liked it secretly. And deep down, we all want to see Tom Hiddleston reprise the role again. Loki is just that good a character and fans love to see him on the screen. Well, luckily enough, Marvel revealed in the mid-credit scene of the finale that there will indeed be a Loki season 2!

Loki of course isn’t the first Marvel show to air on Disney+. WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have already debuted on the streaming service and have already concluded. Moreover, they got some great reception as well, amassing millions of viewers and giving the platform some much-needed boost. However, when you watch them in their entirety, they feel more like elongated Marvel films. And although that is nice, it’s nothing new. But with Loki, things felt different.

What can Loki season 2 bring to the MCU?

If I have a way to describe it, it would be that Loki felt like the Avengers: Endgame of the last phase of the MCU. In it, you felt that things were going out of control and that they did. *Spoiler Alert* the sacred timeline is completely destroyed and the universe has now become a multiverse. Now, we may even see the entire timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe reset, giving Kevin Feige to play around in many ways that he likes. But for the fans, what it gave them was a Loki season 2! In the mid-credit scene, Marvel made it clear that “Loki will return in season 2” and the fans are loving it.

However, how the MCU will proceed right now is still a mystery. But what we do know is that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Doctor Steven Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will definitely be involved. The Multiverse of Madness is finally making sense now. Whatever it is, it will involve the characters we know battling out to fight for a timeline that they believe is sacred. Furthermore, it’s highly likely that we’ll see Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Owen Wilson, and Sophia Di Martino will likely make a return as well. So, all I can say to Marvel fans is: Buckle Up!
