Bridgerton fans face mixed emotions as Regé-Jean Page earns Emmy nomination while Phoebe Dynevor does not

Bridgerton became fan-favorite Netflix show right after it came out in December 2020. The fans still cannot forget the on-screen chemistry between Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor). The series is based on the first book of series by Julia Quinn. And safe to say that season 1 was beautifully adapted from the book; The Duke and I. The casting and acting was so on-point that Bridgerton has scored 12 Emmy nominations this year. It includes Outstanding Drama series. And Regé-Jean Page in the category of Outstanding lead actor in a drama series. However, fans are not happy with the way Phoebe Dynevor was snubbed.

The on-screen couple Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor portrayed their roles really well. No one can argue that there was a casting error for the Netflix series. However, appreciating one half of the global sensation is not making the fans happy. At one side, they are extremely happy to see Page has a nomination. But, they cannot forget how good Dynevor was in the series.

The duo complimented each other in all the right ways. In fact, fans were heartbroken when Shondaland announced that Page will not be returning for the series. And right after the Emmy nominations were announced, the fans even started demanding a flashback of Simon Basset in the coming seasons of Bridgerton. Anything to keep them going.

The fans are very loyal to the first Bridgerton couple brought to the screens. And therefore, the social media is currently filled with questions that why Phoebe Dynevor was snubbed by Emmys.

While the fans are facing mixed emotions, Regé-Jean Page has reacted to his nomination for playing Simon Basset in Bridgerton.

Phoebe Dynevor also reacted to the nomination and shared her joy in the comments section of Page’s Instagram post.

Moreover, Nicola Coughlan, Lady Whistledown, also shared her excitement on the Bridgerton Emmy nominations.

Furthermore, the show has been nominated for following 12 Emmy categories:

  1. Drama Series.
  2. Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
  3. Production Design For A Narrative Period Or Fantasy Program (One Hour Or More).
  4. Casting For A Drama Series.
  5. Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series (One Hour).
  6. Period Costumes.
  7. Directing For A Drama Series.
  8. Period And/Or Character Hairstyling.
  9. Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score).
  10. Original Main Title Theme Music.
  11. Music Supervision.
  12. Character Voice-Over Performance.

So, the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 17, 2021. Undoubtedly, it is going to be a tough call.
