The famous singer, Britney Spears is pushing her attorney to file a petition to officially end her conservatorship. We are all aware of what Britney has been going through – Britney has been under conservatorship for a decade. In the last court hearing, Britney opened up about the things she went through while she was under this conservatorship which is helmed by her father. Now, according to sources, she has finally decided to officially end her conservatorship, pushing her lawyer to file the petition.
She also told the court the horrifying details of the conservatorship. Her father has been controlling her life since 2008 when she was put under a court-mandated conservatorship after undergoing a mental health crisis. Since then, Britney has not been allowed to make her own decisions. Every little facet of her life was governed by her father and Britney has had enough of this.
One of the things that Britney told the court was that she was not even allowed to have a child. Furthermore, she had no control over her wealth as well. Since then, there has been a lot of outrage on social media, with a vast majority in support of Britney. Many celebrities and fans showed the singer their support, with #FreeBritney trending on various social media as well.
Britney Spears wants to put an end to her conservatorship
Britney Spears has tolerated so much in the last 12 years. She basically had no life of her own and was owned by her father. Let alone the financial control her father has over her, Britney was not even allowed to go to a drive with her boyfriend without her father’s permission. She just wants to put an end to this misery once and for all and that is why she asked her attorney to file a petition to end her conservatorship. A source told CNN that Britney begged her attorney to put an end to her misery by filing the necessary petition. The source said:
Britney has spoken to Sam multiple times since last week and she has asked him point-blank, once again, to file the paperwork to end this.
Her attorney, Samuel Ingham, has not filed the petition yet. Samuel Ingham also refused to answer any questions which were asked by CNN. We hope that Britney Spears gets justice and is able to decide for her life by herself.
