The two famously began dating in 1999, with their couple often being seen as the stuff of fairytales. The two met as child stars when they were both featured in “The All-New Mickey Mouse Club”. However, the two tragically broke up in 2002, with a lot of gossip making it to the tabloids. Since then, Timberlake has been married to Jessica Biel since 2012 and Spears married and later divorced dancer/rapper Kevin Federline, with whom she has two sons. But, despite their history, Justin Timberlake has vocally announced his support for Britney Spears. The singer tweeted:

After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right. No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body.

Timberlake continued:

No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.

Lastly, Timberlake emphasized that his wife Biel is also behind Britney Spears, sending her love through these difficult times:

Jess and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts, and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.

The tough life of Britney Spears

The body-related decisions that Justin Timberlake was referring to were the revelation in Britney Spears’ court hearings that she has been forced to use birth control. Moreover, she has also been forced to perform, take medication, attend therapy sessions, and has little to no privacy. This is the first time since 2008 that we heard the inner happenings of her conservatorship from her own words. Her father Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet were made co-conservators of her multimillion estate. Since 2019, however, Spears has been her sole conservator as Wallet resigned.
