Spice Girls Announce New Tour Sans Victoria Beckham
Spice Girls announced their new tour on Twitter without Victoria Beckham
When you hear about 90’s girl groups, one name pops into your mind, ‘Spice Girls’. This British girl group based in the UK made waves in the pop music industry. They were responsible for pop culture phenomenon such as “Girl Power”, “Cool Britannia” and, “Spice Mania”. They also started the cool nicknames trend with each group member having their own, ‘Posh Spice’, ‘Scary Spice’, ‘Baby Spice’, ‘Sporty Spice’ and, ‘Ginger Spice’. Releasing three platinum albums and the most epic girl anthem in “Wannabe”, they are still known around the globe.
Friendship never ends! We all know the song and we might get to hear it again. That’s right! All the girl group fans out there can rejoice because “Spice Girls” have announced a new tour. The tour will see the original group members reunite including, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell Horner, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown. But it won’t have Victoria Beckham.
Rumors About a Reunion of Spice Girls
The tour has been much anticipated. People have been requesting the members of the group to reunite for a tour. There were also rumors that they might perform on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding but unfortunately that never happened. However, hope was ignited when an official Twitter feed for Spice Girls was launched in October. The members of the group including, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell Horner, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown interacted with fans. They even convinced some fans that they were a four-member band now, leading to fans going crazy excited for the Spice Girls Tour.
The Tour Announcement
The final hint came from Emma Bunton. She was interviewing with Robbie Williams on Heart Radio Breakfast Show. When co-host Jamie Theakston pressed her to confirm reunion rumors, she gave in. She made a statement,
“Everything would be announced on social media at 15:00 GMT (10 a.m. ET). I’m just excited, I want it out there.”
And so, came out the official announcement earlier today in a tweet:

In a playful banter over outfits, the group members were set up like they were ready to appear on a TV show. Geri shows up in a sparkling blue dress and Mel B is quick to point her out. They all start to banter. Geri defends herself by saying that if they are doing a new tour, they should look like it. That’s all we need! Melanie C confirms that they are going on tour!
Missing Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham
We are all excited for the Spice Girls new tour. However, we could not help but noticing the missing Spice Girl. The Posh Spice we all know now as Victoria Beckham. Formerly known as Victoria Adams, she married English footballer David Beckham in 1999. Fans noticed her absence in the announcement video and were obviously disappointed. What’s Spice Girls if not all the original 5 iconic ladies? An official statement was released which stated why Victoria will not be joining her group. The statement read,
“Because of her business commitments Victoria won’t be joining the girls on tour, but will always be one of the Spice Girls and remains aligned with Emma, Mel B, Melanie C and Geri in preserving their unique legacy.”
Shortly after, Victoria Beckham also released an official statement. She stated,
“Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour, I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
She also posted an Instagram post recently in which she wished her former group members all her love.
