According to his LinkedIn profile, Dhar Mann graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a bachelors in Art, Economics, and Political Science. However, that was just the beginning of his passionate “lifelong learning”.

What we know next about him starts in December of 2015, when he founded a cosmetic company called LiveGlam. With LiveGlam, he started off with $600 and turned it into a company that churned out 8-figure revenues on a yearly basis with over 100 team members across the world. Moreover, Mann’s company has until now shipped 10 million products and has over 2 million followers on social media. What makes his company stand out further is that their products are “vegan and cruelty-free”. To this day, Dhar Mann is the CEO of the company.

However, what truly made Dhar Mann famous was his YouTube channel Dhar Mann Studios. According to his own words on his profile, he described the channel as:

A video production company aimed at creating positive content for the social media generation. The viral videos he creates on life, business, and relationships receive over 1 Billion monthly views. These videos depict real-life situations shown by actors that teach important life lessons, driven by Dhar’s personal experience of success and failure. Dhar’s mission for creating content is simple: We’re not just telling stories, we’re changing lives.

As a result of these endeavors, Dhar Mann has amassed over 48 million social media followers and has gathered more than 20 billion views across all platforms. But, that brings us to the question that, why did he have a clash with PewDiePie and other YouTubers?

His feud with other YouTubers

What happened was that back in April, PewDiePie Felix Kjellberg along with fellow YouTuber CinnamonToastKen reacted to one of Dhar’s videos about a child who gets ridiculed in school. Moreover, apart from PewDiePie, other YouTubers like the Smiling Pariah also criticized Mann’s videos, titled “This Feel-Good YouTuber’s Really TOXIC Message – Dhar Mann”.

In response, Mann did not take that criticism lightly, as a few months later, he made a video where he showcased Felix’s and other YouTubers’ comments as hate. In the video, he comforts an actor who quits on set because of receiving negative comments. As a response, Mann shows him the “hate” he gets on social media. He showed stitched-together videos, with Felix saying:

I already hate it. Dhar Mann Fam? It doesn’t make any sense. I didn’t think it would annoy me so much. ‘Keep changing lives,’ how? Dumb, I hate it.

Later on, Mann tells the disheartened actor to focusing on the people that love me, not the ones that hate me”.

In response, PewDiePie stayed firm on his criticism, accusing that Dhar Mann showed his videos “out of context”. He said that regardless of you’re intentions, it doesn’t mean that you’re above any kind of criticism. Felix said:

Way to cut out all the context… It was just for fun. Listen it was a bad video. I stand by that opinion… Even if you try to do a positive message, which is great, it was delivered so poorly. There’s no way you could understand it. And if anything, it just misconstrued [the message]… I don’t think just because you are trying to do something good, that you are above criticism.

Lastly, Felix was visibly disappointed with Mann’s reaction, but harbored no hard feelings against him, saying:

It seemed like Dhar Mann took it in stride until I saw this. So I don’t know. I don’t care… Just know I have no actual ill will towards him. Not trying to cause tea here. He’s doing his thing, I’m doing my thing.
