Zack Snyder has been in the news for all the right reasons recently. And that positive trend continues after the release of Army of the Dead as well. In a tweet, the streaming platformed shared their projection that 72 million households will tune to watch in the first four weeks of the film. Netflix said on their official Twitter:

72 million households are betting on dead. ARMY OF THE DEAD has been the #1 film around the world and is projected to be one of Netflix’s most popular films ever in its first 4 weeks.

Army of the Dead premiered on the 21st of May on Netflix as well as in select theatres in North America. Moreover, apart from directing the movie, Zack Snyder also co-scripted it alongside Shay Hatten and Joby Harold. And Snyder made this film with a truly star studded cast, which included Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo, Huma Qureshi, and Garret Dillahunt.

Moreover, the premise of Army of the Dead is unlike other zombie thrillers that the audience is used to seeing. A squad of mercenaries, led by Bautista, is trying to recover $200 million from a zombie-infested Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Bautista had to come to terms with some of his own shortcomings as a father and as a lover. And Snyder has ample experience while shooting this genre, beginning his career with Dawn of the Dead. Furthermore, Snyder is ready for a sequel as well, as he and co-writer Shay Hatten already know where to pick up the storyline.
