Chad Michael Murray Cast as Ted Bundy in New Movie and Fans Aren’t Happy
It has been speculated in the past that Hollywood doesn’t really care about women or victims of vicious and horrific murders. It seems there’s some truth in the matter, considering there’s to be ANOTHER movie about Ted Bundy starring Chad Michael Murray. Therefore, we question… hasn’t Hollywood had enough of the serial killer? Apparently not.
There’s yet another Ted Bundy movie coming
Nerves and tempers flared at the announcement that heartthrob Chad Michael Murray will play Ted Bundy in another retelling of the life of the serial killer. The announcement hit the front news only a couple years after Zac Efron starred as a hot Bundy, in a Netflix adaptation. The Netflix movie ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’ showcased the killer’s life and motives behind the 30 murders.
Get this… those murders were known, which implies the existence of many unknown murders carried out by the killer. As expected, fans are livid as Murray is all set to portray Bundy in ‘American Boogeyman’. A movie that will follow the charming and ever-elusive killer on his many murders. It will also include the manhunt that ultimately brings him into justice. They will also explore the origins of the phrase ‘serial killer’.
Many were disappointed at the news of Chad Michael Murray being cast
Fans of the ‘One Tree Hill’ actor are ecstatic they will get to see the Murray again onscreen. But the excitement subsided with the second-part of the announcement. Nobody seems thrilled about being fed even more serial killer content. They also argue that adding an attractive actor is basically glamorizing the late serial killer.
Critics of the movie came to Twitter to express discontent and frustration. Many even questioned the need for another movie on the serial killer.
“The CDC recommends that we don’t need a new Ted Bundy movie.” @OhNoSheTwitnt wrote.
It seems many Twitter users didn’t like the news. Eyes rolled and keyboards clacked, as all pleaded with Hollywood to stop with the glamorization of serial killers. After all, why was there another NEED for a Ted Bundy movie starring Chad Michael Murray. The actor could just very well star in a movie about a hot lifeguard that saves a woman and they fall in love. Has good promise, right?
