BC Camplight guitarist Tom Rothery attacked in Cardiff

The lead guitarist of an indie rock band known as ‘BC Camplight’ was brutally attacked in Cardiff, following a Halloween gig. But somehow he still managed to get up and perform, nearly unrecognizable.

The Cruel Attack

BC Camplight has been touring the UK promoting their new album. The band named itself after the lead singer and American artist, Brian Christinzio. Guitarist Tom Rothery, aged 29 is part of the live band. The police discovered him unconscious in the early hours of Thursday. He was brutally attacked and his face was left completely bruised.

However, despite his injuries, he still took to the stage. After the police found Tom on the streets, they took him to a hospital. But he left his bed the same morning, displaying miraculous strength. He got on stage that night at Rough Trade, Bristol, showing his determination to continue the tour. He ended up receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

BC Camplight, whose real name is Brian Christinzio, said:

“Watching Tom destroy Bristol on stage, was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I was crying like a baby on stage. Legend.”

The audience took notice of Tom’s face as it was visibly swollen. Brian addressed the incident on stage, and later stated “the Bristol crowd gave Tom a great ovation and were maniacal in general. I was emotional, it was a great gig.”

Tom doesn’t remember much from the incident, but police are asking for witnesses to come forward. The band is also appealing on social media for any information regarding the attack. If you have any information, please contact them on [email protected]
