Money Heist Season 5 release planned in two installments of 5 episodes
What was supposed to be a limited series at first turned out to become a 5 season long thriller. The two separate volumes of La Casa De Papel Season 5 have release dates of September 3rd, 2021, and December 5th, 2021, respectively. And it is going to be an epic end to the thriller by the looks of the official synopsis of the show. Moreover, it might just be a perfect send-off for many viewers’ favorite characters, portrayed by Alvaro Morte, Úrsula Corberó, Pedro Alonso. The synopsis reads:
The gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn’t have an escape plan. Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.
What we know about season 5 so far
In terms of what fans can expect from season 5, it’s going to be an emotional and thrilling roller coaster. According to the creator Álex Pina, the pandemic did affect how they would go about with the show. The two parts of Money Heist would focus on different aspects of the gang. Volume 1 focusing on the plot and Volume 2 on the emotional aspect of it. He said:
When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself. We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In Volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.
Fans will still, however, have to wait for a few months for the show to air. But, if you’re too anxious to wait, you can check out the teaser for Money Heist season 5 below:
