What did Phoebe Dynevor had to say on the exit

Even though the entire world made their disappointment over Regé-Jean Page’s exit clear, Phoebe Dynevor remained silent. Now, she’s finally speaking up on it. She came on the Variety Awards Circuit podcast and shared her thoughts:

“I had a bit of a heads up so I knew but yeah, I guess it is a spanner. But again, the show centers around the Bridgertons and there are eight books. I think maybe the fans of the books were more aware of that happening than the fans of the show. I think fans of the books know that every episode is about a different sibling. And we’re very much passing the baton to the lovely Johnny [Jonathan Bailey] who plays Anthony. Obviously, it’s sad to see [Page] go but I’m looking forward to being reunited with my family.”

Regé-Jean Page also found it interesting on how all the books would be adapted into the series:

“(I thought) that’s interesting because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”

Judging from his comments, Page was originally bought onboard on a one-season deal. And, despite being given cameo roles in Season 2, an insider tells that he turned the offer down in order to make movies. He’s going to start filming for ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ soon and finished wrapping up ‘The Gray Man’.

What can fans expect on Bridgerton’s second season?

The second season of the show is set to follow in the footsteps of Julia Quinn’s books. The second book focuses on Daphne Bridgerton’s older brother, Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey). His story-line will be the main arc of the series. As we can recall, the end of season one left Anthony taking on the responsibility as head of the Bridgerton family.

The season 2 also cast Anthony’s love interest, Kate. Simon Ashley, who was also on Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’, will play the role of Kate.

Fans were sad to see Rege-Jean Page go but are excited to see Anthony’s love story unfold in season 2!
