It’s no secret that Taika Waititi pretty much galvanized the Thor franchise under his tutelage in Thor: Ragnarok. Before him, Thor was not as widely praised by the fans as he is now, with most of his movies being dull and cliched. But with Ragnarok, the entire perception of the character changed. Hence, Marvel entrusted him with the fourth and final film of the Thor franchise – Thor: Love and Thunder.

Filming for Thor 4 is still ongoing in Australia, with an ensemble cast unlike any other for an MCU solo film. We have stars like Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, and many others getting together on one set to give shape to next summer’s potential blockbuster release. The entire world is waiting anxiously for this film, and so the Oscar-winning director recently decided to give an update as to how much work has been done.

While talking to the Daily Mail, Waititi revealed how close the crew is to finishing the production of Thor: Love and Thunder, with just four more weeks to go. He further hyped up the film, saying this might just be the “best Marvel film” yet, saying:

Great – we’ve got four weeks left, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It might be the best Marvel film ever!

Furthermore, Taika Waititi talked about his lead actor and very “good friend” Chris Hemsworth. While talking about the Thor actor, Waititi was all praise for him and his performance, saying:

He is a funny guy, he’s a good friend and he’s also someone that you just want to hang out with all the time. And I think that’s all you really want from a superhero or a main character in your movie.

And sure enough, we will definitely get to see Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as his mighty best once again. Thor: Love and Thunder has been under the works for six months now, which indicates the upcoming intense superhero action. And that is why Waititi termed the end of production as a “light at the end of the tunnel”. However, the movie will be far from complex, as post-production will require editing and VFX work that Thor 4 needs. Only afterward will we be able to see a trailer or some fully rendered photographs of the film.

Moreover, Taika Waititi has ensured that Thor: Love and Thunder will be an interesting one. Thor will set off with the Guardians of the Galaxy to battle Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. Unfortunately, that is all we know about the movie because Marvel is keeping all the details a tightly kept secret. Therefore, to know exactly what happens, we’ll have to wait for the release date of the movie – May 6, 2022.
