Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfe Tease Plot For Outlander Season 4
Starz’s Outlander returns this Sunday with its Season 4. In an obvious strategy, the cast and crew are leaving no stone unturned for the show’s online promotion. Recently, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe gave an interview about the upcoming season. Cast members Sam Heughan (Jamie), Sophie Skelton (Brianna), and Richard Rankin (Roger) also talked about the show and Halloween in a Halloween video they released on Facebook.
Fans Had Questions, They Answered
The primary purpose of the video was to promote the show hinging on to the Halloween season. So the cast went on to address some vital fan questions related to the festival. A fan asked the cast about what scares them the most. Sam Heughan was quick to reply that he had an eerie interaction with a clown a day before. Skelton joked about Heughan seeing the clown IT from the Stephen King’s novel. Rankin spoke about his apocalyptic phobias and confessed that he was not a fan of zombies. The Outlander cast members also joke about how all of them had auditioned to play zombies for other projects.
Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfe Talk About Jamie And Claire
Apart from the Halloween video the cast from the Starz show, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe,
met with TV week. They discussed how would life be for Outlander’s Jamie and Claire in America. We saw how, at the end of season three, the duo left the Caribbean. They were bound for Scotland but were caught in a storm, eventually washing up on a beach in Georgia.
The 39-year-old Caitriona Balfe expressed that one major reason that the duo decided to remain in America is an emotional bond. They have raised their daughter there, hence they know what is to come their way.
Sam Heughan claims that Jamie stays in America as the country would eventually become his daughter’s land on the show. Hence he would go all lengths to shape American politics in a way favorable to them for the sake of his daughter.
Caitriona Balfe had herself moved to America when she was in her 20’s. For the actress of Starz’s Outlander, embracing a new country is a wholesome challenging experience. Hence for her, it is delightful that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire will not leave their Scottishness. But they will, also at the same time, embrace America as their new home.
What Is Next For Starz Outlander Season 4?
Claire and Jamie’s first priority will be to find a new home for themselves and their extended family. Since now they also have the responsibilities of Jamie’s nephew Young Ian (John Bell), adopted son Fergus (César Domboy) and Fergus’ wife, Marsali (Lauren Lyle).
Outlander will open up with the new villain Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers) creating difficulties for Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters. The penniless heroes will have to struggle to find a new home. The couple will also share some intimate moments, for which Sam Heughan will have to drop his shirt off, yet again. On this, Sam clearly expressed his unwillingness. He said that he does it because the script calls for it, otherwise he feels uncomfortable.
“Do I enjoy it? No, I don’t, but it’s just a part of Outlander. I enjoy working out and getting a six-pack. But I just wish I could be unbuttoned maybe only three or four buttons for those scenes.”
Caitriona Balfe also said that they exhibit great professionalism while performing intimate scenes.
“Sam and I are close and we have each other’s backs. I think you have to go into any scene putting your character first. When ‘action’ is called, it’s Claire and Jamie in the scene. So it’s important to go forward with what the characters’ needs are first.”
