Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away last August after a long fight against Colon Cancer, is being given a befitting tribute by Netflix this year with Portrait of an Artist. Netflix released an initial trailer for the documentary yesterday. It begins with Boseman’s voiceover:

Furthermore, many actors who worked with Boseman on several projects will give pay their tribute to the actor. This includes Viola Davis, who starred with him in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, as well as Denzel Washington, who produced that movie. Furthermore, Portrait of an Artist will also feature Da 5 Bloods director Spike Lee and Boseman’s acting mentor Phylicia Rashād. Netflix described the documentary as:

An intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor’s artistry, and the acting process which informed his transformative performances.

Davis, who played the role of singer Ma Rainey alongside Chadwick Boseman’s musician Levee, praised the actor’s craft and artistry, saying:

You know you have to step up when you’re in his presence. He’s looking at your work and he’s, like, really hyper-focused, on the craft, on the process. That’s Chad.
