It looks like finding employment for a Royal family member isn’t as difficult, even when you’re embroiled in controversy. At least, that is the case with Prince Harry, who joined BetterUp, a Silicon Valley-based startup, as the “Chief Impact Officer”. His role demands him to maximize human potential worldwide. He further explained the reason why he joined the startup in the company’s blog post, saying:

I firmly believe that focusing on and prioritising our mental fitness unlocks potential and opportunity that we never knew we had inside of us. As the Royal Marine Commandos say, ‘It’s a state of mind.’ We all have it in us.

Furthermore, Prince Harry talked about the goals that he has set for himself as a part of BetterUp, further writing:

As BetterUp’s first Chief Impact Officer, my goal is to lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations. And my hope is to help people develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence.

BetterUp provides a platform that combines behavioural science, artificial intelligence, and human coaching in order to optimize human coaching. And the company’s financials clearly depict an upward trajectory. Last month, they announced that they raised $125m in funding and had a valuation close to $1.73 billion. Founded in 2013, the company now has more than 270 employees and a network of around 200 coaches. And the reason Prince Harry joined BetterUp is that he used the platform himself, which is telling of the credibility of their services. And apart from the Duke of Sussex, BetterUp has an impressive clientele from NASA, Chevron, Mars, Genentech, Snap, and Warner Media.

Life has been good for the Duke and Duchess since leaving England

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the Royal Family, they have signed some lucrative digital media deals. This includes deals with Netflix as well as Spotify. And joining BetterUp is a part of this growth as well. As Prince Harry said in the blog:

Self-optimisation is not about fixing something that’s broken. It’s about becoming the best version of ourselves, with whatever life throws at us – someone who is ready for the next challenge and can meet setbacks with courage, confidence, and self-awareness.
