The Interstellar actor has again touched on the topic 10 days after he confirmed his thoughts on The Balanced Voice podcast. McConaughey told Fallon on Friday, saying:

Well, it’s come up a lot lately. And I’m gonna say to you now the same thing I’ve been saying, which is true. It’s not a dodge. And when I say it’s something I’m giving consideration, absolutely. What an honorable thing to even be able to consider. But that’s no further than that right now, sir.

Texas recently went through a horrific winter storm which left the entire state paralyzed. As a result, Matthew McConaughey is hosting a virtual concert named “We’re Texas” to help those impacted and devastated by the storms. The concert will take place on Sunday evening and will raise funds for several charities, like Austin Disaster Relief Network, Meals on Wheels Central Texas, The Salvation Army, Save the Children, St. Bernard Project, and Team Rubicon disaster relief. His wife Camila Alves will also co-host the event. Furthermore, McConaughey also talked about what his own family went through, saying:

Look, we’re doing good. We had, you know, a couple pipes break. We’ve had to pull up some drywall in the house. Lost power. Just got off having to boil water four days ago. But the problem in Texas is there’s tens of thousands that aren’t as good a shape as we are right now. There’s a lot of people that are out of home.

Moreover, a number of notable stars will be taking part in Matthew McConaughey’s event. These include Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Megan thee Stallion, Michael Strahan, Selena Gomez, Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, Kelly Clarkson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many more.

Whether this charity run will help McConaughey in convincing him to run for Governor is yet to be seen. But, he did express his shock and dismay at the current Governor Greg Abbot’s performance, specifically related to lifting COVID-19 mandatory mask restrictions, saying:

My reaction to that is, I was a little dumbfounded by the decision. I understand ‘go back to work’. What I did not understand was ‘pull the mask mandate’.
