Benedict Cumberbatch apologizes for lack of cameo in ‘WandaVision’
While watching WandaVision, many MCU fans were expecting to at least see a glimpse of Doctor Strange. But, that never happened and fans were left disappointed. So much so that the actor who plays the Sorcerer Supreme, Benedict Cumberbatch, has apologized to the fans in a recent interview.
Benedict Cumberbatch apologizes for not making a cameo in WandaVision
While speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cumberbatch addressed his lack of presence on WandaVision. He apologized for there being no Doctor Strange cameo, saying:
If it didn’t happen, then I am sorry about that.
It is unfortunate that we couldn’t see Cumberbatch in WandaVision. But, we will definitely see Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff (or Scarlett Witch) with Doctor Strange. They’ll be teaming up in Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness. The movie’s original release date was May 7, 2021, but Disney pushed it to March 25, 2022, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. And Benedict Cumberbatch spoke about Olsen’s appearance in the Doctor Strange sequel, saying:
She’s amazing. It’s a very exciting next step for Wanda.
However, Cumberbatch couldn’t share too many details about Doctor Strange 2. And that’s because of Marvel’s very strict no-spoilers policy, which only Tom Holland can get away with. So, we’ll have to wait for March of 2022 to see how things work out. What we do know is that Danny Elfman will set the score of the movie. He had this to say about the movie:
I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi’s directing. Even though I don’t start it for some months, there’s bits of recorded music they need for the sets.
Unfortunately, this is all the information we’re going to get. But, that’s part of what makes Marvel and the MCU special. You can watch Benedict Cumberbatch’s complete interview here:
