Zack Snyder teases that his ‘Justice League’ ends on Big Cliffhanger
So, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is just around the corner. With the fans having to wait a long time for this, the director is revealing tiny bits of information about what this movie will be about and what it could have been. Like, he recently revealed that Justice League will actually end on a huge cliffhanger.
Back in 2017, Snyder was working on the DC mega film but had to step down after the tragic death of his daughter. As a result, Joss Whedon took over the project, and the movie turned out to be a trainwreck. Be it Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or any of the other heroes, the audience didn’t connect with a single one of them.
Later, there were countless petitions from fans to release the Snyder Cut, which was his original version of the film. And so, Warner Bros. heeded their demand and that the Snyder Cut would land on HBO Max on March 18.
Zack Snyder opens up on Joker’s new look and the Justice League’s ending
While talking to IGN, Zack Snyder talked about this upcoming movie, and also commented on Joker’s new Jesus-like look. He commented:
What inspired [Joker’s] look was the sort of post-apocalyptic world that I’m a huge fan of. And, really, the idea was that as the movies progressed, the next movie – if there ever was one, and it doesn’t seem like there ever will be – but if there was, it would exist primarily in that world with them trying to set it right.
However, Zack Snyder ensured that the scene does not stay for longer than it is intended for, saying:
[The sequence] doesn’t overstay its welcome but it definitely does what I needed it to do for the story and for us. Beyond that I think it’s a spoiler.
Lastly, Zack Snyder also talked about the proposed sequels of the film and how the ending of Justice League was designed to cater to them with a cliffhanger. He said:
Well, [the original Justice League plan] was meant to be two more movies… [The Snyder Cut] hints, as you would, at a potential other world. I’d plant the seeds as I had wanted to of what would come in the later films, so that’s in there, but as far as those stories that would be to come — if ever that happened, which it does not look like it would — but I think it’s easy to speculate based on that and we can talk about that for quite a while.
Recently, Zack Snyder also admitted that he isn’t taking a single penny from Warner Bros. for Justice League. This is a very personal project for the director and he wanted to have complete freedom over the project.
