Salma Hayek is a prominent name in Hollywood but it definitely wasn’t an easy journey. As the actress recently explained, she faced a lot of hurdles along her way. Hayek especially talked about the pressure older women face in the film industry business.

The actress was told that her career would end in her 30s

Salma Hayek shared that she was constantly told that her Hollywood career would ‘die’ in her 30s. Moreover, people also said to her that she had no chance of success or becoming a popular leading actress in this industry because she was Mexican.

“They told me my career would die mid-thirties. First of all, they told me a Mexican is never going to make it, because at the time, the new generations, it was impossible for a Mexican to have a leading role in Hollywood.”

Fortunately, Salma Hayek proved her doubters wrong. The actress says that she fought all the hurdles and ended up winning against those who didn’t believe in her. She is now encouraging all women to do the same.

“I fought it and I won. I want other women to realise that, because even in your thirties you feel the pressure, in your forties you feel the pressure – and late blooming, it’s a beautiful thing.”

She also added on to say that there’s no time limit to anything you wish to do, no matter who you are.

“And we’re not ‘over’ at this time, or at another time. If you’re creative and enthusiastic and curious about life, life can be exciting forever, the entire time.”

The successful career of Salma Hayek speaks for itself surely

It is no surprise that Salma Hayek is one of the most popular and beloved celebrities in Hollywood. That’s not only because of her grace and beauty but also because of her remarkable career. She’s starred in notable movies such as ‘Frida’, ‘Fools Rush In’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mexico’, ‘Beatriz at Dinner’, and ‘Americano’. For her role as the artist Frida Kahlo, Salma Hayek even earned herself an Oscar nomination in 2003.

She’s recently entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Ajak. Starring in the ‘Eternals’ movie, Salma Hayek will be co-starring with Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Kit Harrington, and Richard Madden.

It’s amazing to see her not getting the critics to weigh her down.
