Elizabeth Chambers breaks her silence on allegations against her ex-husband
In a detailed statement that Chambers released on Instagram, the Food Network celebrity finally broke her silence after weeks of allegations and claims on her estranged husband Armie Hammer. The Call Me By Your Name actor has been accused of abusing other women and sending them graphic messages on social media. Chambers said:
For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated. Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know.
Furthermore, Chambers also reassured her fans that she supports every victim that came forward with their story. She wrote:
I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.
Finally, Chambers wrote that she doesn’t want to comment any further on the issue, saying:
At this time, I will not be commenting further on this matter. My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for all of the love and support, and thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect, and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move forward.
Hammers has called all the claims “bullsh*t”
This is the first time Chambers has spoken on the matter since the allegations broke out in January. She separated from The Man From U.N.C.L.E actor back in July of 2020. In some social media private DM leaks, a user alleged that Armie Hammer showed a propensity for cannibalism, with trends like “Armie Hammer Cannibal” making rounds on Twitter. Moreover, other messages claimed that he subjected women to abuse. One of his ex-girlfriends also came forward and disclosed that he shared her private photos with a stranger without her consent. Ever since these allegations surfaced, Hammer has categorically denied them. He also decided to quit from his upcoming film “Shotgun Wedding,” starring alongside Jennifer Lopez. In his statement, Hammer said:
I’m not responding to these bullsh*t claims, but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this, and I’m grateful to them for that.
Elizabeth Chambers hasn’t commented on the matter anywhere else. She just left a subtle comment underneath an Instagram post, which reported that one of Hammer’s former directors and his former co-star Timothée Chalamet were making a movie on Cannibalism.
