Caitlyn Jenner Denounces Trump
Former Olympic athlete and transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner has finally denounced President Trump. In a new Op-ed published in The Washington Post, Caitlyn Jenner retracted her support giving her reasons. She believes that she was wrong to think that President Trump would help further the transgender community. Despite criticism from the LGBTQ community, Caitlyn Jenner continued to stay positive for change under his reign. But now that she has realized it’s not happening, she decided to withdraw her support. The former member of the Kardashian clan also wrote a Twitter post saying that transgenders won’t be erased. And tagged President Trump in the post.
What Makes Caitlyn Jenner Withdraw Support?
In the Thursday editorial, Caitlyn Jenner talked about how wrong she was to believe that as a President, Trump would try to further the goals of the LGBTQ lobby. And that he would also stand up for the community. But now the activist has seen that he is not that type of a man.
Previously, when President Trump came to Washington for support, Jenner saw a fertile ground for change in the LGBTQ rights. She was optimistic that this could help her bring the change she wanted. And although the LGBTQ community criticized her for engaging with the administration, she did not lose hope. However, now she realizes that she was wrong. Caitlyn Jenner further insisted that President Trump was relentlessly attacking the transgender community.
Digging deeper into the editorial, Jenner launched her attack on President Trump. She claimed that he has attacked and insulted the community. Not just that, but has energized political whips against the transgender community. And claims that he is carrying out the worst politics by adding his anti-transgender policies into his country protection movement. She added that it was unacceptable, upsetting and also personally hurt Caitlyn Jenner.
Caitlyn Jenner also pointed to the leaked information that the government was placing off Barack Obama’s politically motivated transgender polices. And was deciding to return to scientific definitions of gender. She said that her hope in him was misplaced and she does not support President Trump any longer.
Caitlyn Jenner concluded her editorial adding that the world needed to hear and know the transgender community. And that they will not be erased- a message that she also tweeted for the world and President Trump.
