Tiger King’s most talked-about star, Carole Baskin, has some interesting news for everyone. She has come out of the closet and admitted to being bisexual. It’s another piece of surprising news after everyone got to see her dance on Dancing with the Stars!
Here’s what Carole Baskin had to say about her sexuality
Carole Baskin, the Big Cat Rescue founder, became the most talked-about reality stars in 2020 after Netflix released ‘Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness’. The absurdity of the show and her foe Joe Exotic was a major reason for that. But another one was primarily the mystery of her first husband, Don Lewis. Carole’s first husband disappeared in mysterious circumstances and was never found again. Joe Exotic and even Don Lewis’s family believe that Carole Baskin had something to do with the disappearance. It led to a lot of discourse online, with several viral memes, and a strong belief by many that Carole Baskin killed her husband.
As for Joe Exotic, he’s currently serving a twenty-two-year sentence in prison. Joe, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, was convicted of the charges of trying to hire someone to kill his foe, Carole. Carole had tried shutting Joe’s Zoo down for what she believes was animal abuse. That led to a lot of animosity between the two.
However, Carole Baskin denied the allegations in the documentary series and even after when she was dealing with an onslaught of internet commentators coming after her. Carole Baskin did criticize the documentary makers for misleading her into thinking the documentary was just about tigers and animal rights.
But it seems like Carole Baskin is enjoying her fame now. After coming on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and getting eliminated from it, she shared the news that she is bisexual.
Carole Baskin says she always considered herself as bisexual
The star reveals she’s always thought of herself as bisexual. In an interview with Pink News, Carole Baskin shared:
“Even though I’ve never had a wife, I could just as easily have a wife as a husband.”
Carole married her first husband Don Lewis in 1997. And after his disappearance, Carole married Howard Baskin in November of 2004.
Moreover, Carole also admitted that she often questioned her identity. She considered if she was ‘born into the wrong body’ as she was a tomboy in her childhood years:
“I was always very male-oriented in the things I did. I never had any mothering instincts or anything, you know, I never played with dolls. And so I always thought that there was something off there, that I couldn’t quite put my finger on.”
Then in the 1980s, Carole realized that she had the same feelings for women as she did for men. It happened after she spent some time with an LGBTQ community with her then-fiancé
“As far as the way I feel about us, I think we are all one and I just don’t see us as being different genders or different colors or anything.”
Well, that means Joe Exotic and Carole have another thing in common between them. They both are from the LGBTQ community.
