Better Call Saul Season 6 Will Change The Way You Look At Breaking Bad
Viewers are eagerly waiting for the final season of Better Call Saul. the prequel spin-off focuses on the journey of James “Jimmy” McGill (Bob Odenkirk), as he slowly adopts the alias and the lifestyle of Saul Goodman, the infamous criminal lawyer from Breaking Bad. Spin-offs are usually just a bit of fan service. However, Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan managed to make a whole new identity out of Better Call Saul. So much so that Gould says it will change the way we look at Breaking Bad itself.
Peter Gould reveals what to expect from Better Call Saul’s final season
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gould revealed that season 6 of Better Call Saul will change the way we look at Breaking Bad, saying:
By the time you finish watching Better Call Saul, you’re going to see Breaking Bad in a very different light.
He further talked about the upcoming season 6, saying:
I think we’re going to learn things about the characters in Breaking Bad that we didn’t know. We’re going to learn things about the events of Breaking Bad that we didn’t know. And we’re going to learn things about the fates of a lot of these characters that may surprise people or certainly throw them into a different light.
However, Gould did talk about how challenging it was to write Better Call Saul. This was because there were several limitations and obstacles attached to this season. The biggest one of these is knowing their ultimate fate from Breaking Bad and being bound by it. Gould said:
The devil’s own Rubik’s cube because we know where these characters are and we know kind of where some of them end up. There’s a lot of limitations. There’s a lot of obligations. In some ways, that’s the fun of it, trying to make it all fit together and to make Better Call Saul its own coherent story in itself, and yet also kind of create a frame around Breaking Bad.
Despite knowing the ultimate fate of many of the main characters from Breaking Bad, there’s a lot to look forward to.
What we know of the final season
There’s a lot of characters from Breaking Bad that we get to see in Better Call Saul, apart from Jimmy McGill. These include Hank Schrader, Gus Fring, Steven Gomez, Victor, Tyrus Kitt, and Mike Ehrmantraut. However, the stories of the characters not in the original series is a massive mystery that fans want to be resolved. Those characters include Rhea Seehorn’s Kim Wexler, Tony Dalton’s Lalo Salamanca, Patrick Fabian’s Howard Hamlin, and Michael Mando’s Nacho Varga. Their fates are unknown and viewers are eager to know what becomes of them.
Moreover, we know that Bryan Cranston has recently expressed a wish that he would love to play Walter White (Heisenberg) in Better Call Saul as well. And Aaron Paul has said the same as well. So, we’ll have to wait for the final season to know if these two icons make it or not.
The final season was set for release in early 2021. But, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, shooting has been postponed. We’ll have to wait and see if this show outshines Breaking Bad and it’s epic finale or not.
