Stephen Colbert Transforms 2020 Presidential Election Into Avengers!
But Twitter thinks it's cringe...
America is finally closing in on the Endgame of the 2020 Presidential Election. It’s a final showdown between President Donald Trump and Former Vice President Joe Biden. But, Stephen Colbert took that “Endgame” reference a bit too literally. He decided to make a promo for the election morphed with the final battle of Avengers: Endgame.
2020 Presidential Election, reimagined as Avengers: Endgame!
Stephen Colbert decided to turn the final battle of Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’ into “The Battle for the Soul of the Nation”. The video featured several Democrats deep faced (rather poorly) as the Avengers. For example, Bernie Sanders was Drax, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was Mantis, Michelle Obama was Pepper Pots, Barrack Obama was Iron Man, Pete Buttigieg was Spider-Man, Elizabeth Warren was the Scarlett Witch, and finally, Kamala Harris was Captain Marvel. That’s at least the Democrat side of the 2020 Presidential Election settled.
But, I don’t think you have to guess who played Thanos? It was none other than Donald Trump. Here, take a look at it yourself:
While sharing the deep fake on Twitter, Stephen Colbert labeled the 2020 Presidential Election as America: Endgame:

However, the audience over at Twitter was no so impressed by Stephen Colbert’s effort.
Twitter users thought it was cringe
The 2020 Presidential Elections and the final battle from Avengers: Endgame have a lot in common for many voters. But, that might be the reason why people thought this deep fake by Stephen Colbert was a bit cringe. They were not that impressed by the video, saying in the replies:

Look, I like Joe and I’ll be voting for him but this was cringy as hell
— Mini Mike (@jdfw214) August 17, 2020
I demand an apology to Tom Holland for making Pete Buttigeig Spider-Man.

These are really damning words for Stephen Colbert. But, this comment on YouTube pretty much summed up this rendition of the 2020 Presidential Election:
So, even though Stephen Colbert did a great job at relating the final Avengers: Endgame battle with the 2020 Presidential Election, it’s just too real a comparison. But, there were several users who enjoyed it. There’s little doubt in that as well. But, we’ll have to wait till November to see if the Endgame battle does end as Colbert and other liberal comedians and actors expect and want it to.
