Better Call Saul Creator Gives A Hint About The Final Season
After five long seasons, Better Call Saul has finally arrived in its final season. Even though it’s a prequel series to Breaking Bad, and we know the ultimate fate of a lot of characters, the storyline is so engaging that we’re desperate to know what happens of our favorite characters. But now, it looks like the show’s creator Peter Gould has finally given us a hint of what to expect from the final season!

Peter Gould gives us an idea of Better Call Saul’s final season
Recently, co-creator and showrunner Peter Gould gave us some insight into the final season of Better Call Saul. The folks over at EW asked him what he thought of the ultimate fate of Gene Takovic (the future persona of Jimmy), he said:
“Anybody who watches the show carefully and is thinking about where this is all going, one of the questions you have to ask yourself is: ‘What does this man deserve?’ Not just: ‘What’s going to happen to him?’ but ‘What would be a deserving end to this?'”
They further asked them what do they think Jimmy deserves in Better Call Saul. Or more importantly, does he deserve any redemption for what he’s done in the Breaking Bad universe?
“‘Does Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takovic deserve death? Does he deserve love? What would be the most fitting end for this guy – for the show?’ Obviously, the end for everybody is death, but that may not be where we leave this guy. Is there any way for him to win any redemption after everything that he’s done?”
Where is Kim?
Moreover, the big “Kim Wexler” question is also left unanswered. She is a major character in Better Call Saul, but she isn’t even mentioned once in Breaking Bad. Even Lalo’s name was mentioned once in the show, but never Kim’s. He said:
“The other big question is: ‘Where is Kim Wexler when Saul Goodman is Saul Goodman dealing with Walt (White, played by Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul)? Where’s Kim Wexler?'”
Moreover, Gould gave a very cryptic hint about Kim Wexler. Remember the scene when Kim left her office for the final time and went back to get the bottle stopper? Gould wants you to focus on that, as he said:
“Keep your eye on the bottle stopper.”
You can read the interview with EW here. The filming of the final season of Better Call Saul began in February. But, it of course experienced delays due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. As a result, a delay in the release can be expected.
