This Saturday on July 25, 2020, JAJA Tequila hosted a drive-in concert to celebrate summer season at the Hamptons. Though many are in quarantine. Still, many locals attended the concert. It was a fundraiser experience with a good purpose, however, things do not really go as planned sometimes. The Closer duo were to perform at the concert, and it was everything JAJA Tequila needed to bring people out of their houses for the charity. However, even after 2 days, The Chainsmokers are still facing a huge backlash for being a part of the event during c*ronavirus.
Chainsmokers receive backlash for concert
While all other musicians and singers are performing during livestreams for their fans, The Chainsmokers took the stage at Hamptons to perform for 3000 people gathered for the charity event.
JAJA Tequila announced the concert on their Instagram account on July 18, a week before the event.
And the comments were filled with true Chainsmokers fans who wanted to be there at all costs. The fundraiser had 4 different packages available for the people who wanted to attend the charity event.
The social-distancing drive-in concert was planned at a 100 acres of Nova’s Art Project in New York. The organizers defined areas for the cars and every car passenger was to remain within those boundaries. JAJA Tequila also shared FAQs on the ticketing site to clear any ambiguities.
The main features of the fundraiser concert were:
JAJA Tequila also advised everyone to follow the rules strictly.
SANITIZING
Restrooms will be designated by area and handwashing/sanitization stations will be set around the field. Attendants will sanitize every few minutes. Cleaning staff will also be sanitizing high-touch areas before and during the show.
With most expensive package at $10,000 and the least expensive at $850, the show was sold out. The proceeds/profits of the event were donated to No Kid Hungry, Southampton Fresh Air Home, and the Children’s Medical Fund of New York.
Internet reacts
After the news of The Chainsmokers drive-in concert hit the internet, there was a huge backlash. Many people were not happy when they saw a clip from the event.
