Kaley Cuoco Lands Role as Harley Quinn
Much to everyone’s disappointment, The Big Bang Theory is wrapping up its television journey after this last season. But the family-friendly beloved sitcom’s star Kaley Cuoco has found herself another gig. And this time, she will be working with DC Comics and Warner Bros itself. Kaley Cuoco will be voicing the title role in the upcoming animated series Harley Quinn. For those who are not familiar, Harley Quinn is best identified as Joker’s girlfriend in the Batman universe. And now that everyone’s favorite Kaley Cuoco has taken the stage with it, things are surely going to get pretty exciting.
Kaley Cuoco Takes The Stage As Harley Quinn
During the New York Comic Con event for the new streaming service DC Universe, we got to know that Kaley Cuoco would be the voice behind the iconic comic book character in a new adult animated series. Cuoco is the latest addition to the already star-studded cast for the animated series Harley Quinn. Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Jason Alexander, Wanda Sykes, Giancarlo Esposito, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Diedrich Bader, Tony Hale, and Chris Meloni have already joined.
When talking about this latest role, Kaley Cuoco claimed that she loved animation. And that for the past many years, she has not done anything similar. Cuoco further shared that her new series Harley Quinn is an adult comedy with a world-famous character. And probably that is why the series was a blast to record.
While discussing the upcoming series Harley Quinn, Kaley Cuoco gave us a few hints into the show. The series which premieres in 2019 begins with Harley Quinn breaking up with The Joker. And then she rises to become the best badass supervillain that ever existed. Addressing her character like Harley Quinn, Cuoco said that she did not want to be Joker’s girlfriend anymore. She wanted to lead the pack, and according to Kaley Cuoco, in today’s age and time, the plot is very relevant. The Big Bang Theory star also finds the idea very empowering. Cuoco claimed that yelling at boys, and not having to worry about hair and makeup has made the series an absolute blast for her.
Kaley Cuoco added that Harley Quinn is an iconic character. So with due respect and love to this character, they were trying to bring a new spin to it. And viewers who enjoy such types of shows were in for immense fun.
Together with the announcement that Kaley Cuoco was joining the star cast, we also got a trailer. And it featured Cuoco as the voice behind Harley Quinn. In it, she announced that the show was fun with a lot of adult humor. And even took a few hits at real-life projects like the dark DCEU film franchise, not to forget the failed Deadpool series.
