Your favorite fantasy TV-show, Lucifer, is about to hit Netflix in a few weeks. Finally, something to make your summer more interesting. Netflix just released the official trailer for season 5, along with the release date. And it is pretty weird and unexpected. If you have not seen the trailer yet, let us do the honor of breaking the news for you. In season 5, Lucifer is not just fighting your regular bad guys. In fact, he would be fighting the biggest baddest guy, a new entry you couldn’t imagine. His ultimate fight against “himself”.
Twocifers to strike in August
Breaking down the trailer for Netflix’s Lucifer season 5 is something I didn’t expect today. But here we are. The trailer starts with the reminder of how Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) left Chloe Decker (Lauren German) even when she begged him not to leave. The Devil imagined Chloe would be just fine without him. Little did he know he’d be going back to the Earth to save his own ‘behind’.
With him gone, Mazikeen (Lesley Ann-Brandt) joins Chloe’s team saying they don’t need Lucifer. And that’s where they are wrong. Morningstar returns by crashing one of their raids, as usual. But he is different. Chloe finds it strange and talks to Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) about it. When an angry Mazikeen confronts Lucifer 2.0, he confesses he is not LUCIFER.
Yeah, you read that right. The Lucifer returned is not the Lucifer that left everything behind. He’s actually “Michael”, Morningstar’s twin brother. Apparently, Amenadiel (D. B. Woodside) did not know that too. However, Mazikeen knew the fact that her boss has a twin. She just did not know he’d be an identical twin.
Will Lucifer win the fight?
Michael joins the Lucifer season 5 not to break OG Morningstar’s life, but to take it. He starts getting intimate with Chloe. That means Lucifans might finally be seeing some action they desired since season 1.
The issue is, Morningstar 2.0, or Michael, is stronger than the devil himself. When he turns everything to mess, Lucifer has to return to the Earth and make amends, as well as confront, and probably do more than just punch Michael.
Chloe cannot stay away from anything God-related anymore. She’d have to face not one, but two Lucifers this time. Strange we did not see any sign of Amenadiel’s son. Are they keeping him from us for season 6? Let’s wait until August 21 and watch.
P.S. do you think the trailer could have been better? Or probably it’s just me?
