0 488

Now that the dust is finally settling, it’s time we give some serious thought into Kanye West’s run for President. After Donald Trump’s election in 2016, no one is out of the question for the White House. And no one wants to repeat the same mistakes in the 2020 Presidential Elections. So, the first thing to think about is, what is Kanye’s stance on issues? We got some insight from the rapper himself.

Kanye West’s stance on issues as President

In his recent interview with Forbes, Kanye gave us an overview of the kind of President he wants to become. There are a series of questions that were asked from Kanye, so here are the answers to some of them.

1. What about a COVID-19 vaccine?

The case of the Coronavirus and a COVID-19 vaccine is a top priority all around the world. Naturally, the people of the United States want their President to be focused on it as well. But, it looks like Kanye West is a bit skeptical of vaccines. When asked about a COVID-19 vaccine, he said:

It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed…So when they say the way we’re going to fix Covid is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious. That’s the mark of the beast. They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven. I’m sorry when I say they, the humans that have the Devil inside them. And the sad thing is that, the saddest thing is that we all won’t make it to heaven, that there’ll be some of us that do not make it. Next question.

2. Police brutality and George Floyd’s death:

As President, Kanye West is against police brutality. But, he has a relatively unique take compared to others. He told Forbes:

One of my to-do lists is to end police brutality. The police are people too. To end laws that don’t make sense. Like, in the George Floyd case, there was a Black guy that went to jail and it was his first day on the force. So if it’s your first day on the force and it’s your training day, and this OG accredited cop with 18 violations already starts filing out, are you going to jump in front of that person and lose your job that same day? Especially in this climate when 40,000 people lost their jobs? This man was put in a position where—and also he probably didn’t realize that the cop was going to take it that far, he probably was so scared, in shock, paralyzed, like so many Black people. I’m one of the few Black people that would speak openly like this.

3. What about abortion?

In the US, abortion is still a hotly debated subject. And Kanye West is set on his stance on it as President of the US:

I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the bible.

4. What about taxes?

Again, people would love to know how they’ll be filing taxes in a country with Kanye West as President. But, Kanye is undecided on the matter for now:

I haven’t done enough research on that yet. I will research that with the strongest experts that serve God and come back with the best solution. And that will be my answer for anything that I haven’t researched. I have the earplug in and I’m going to use that earplug.

5. Capital punishment:

In this regard, Kanye West was very straightforward:

Thou shalt not kill. I’m against the death penalty.

6. Foreign Policy:

The people of the US would want to know how Kanye West as President would deal with other countries of the world. But one thing is clear, he is a big fan of the US military. Other than that, however, he is a bit undecided on foreign policy:

I haven’t developed it yet. I’m focused on protecting America, first, with our great military. Let’s focus on ourselves first.

7. What about prayers in schools?

Kanye’s stance on this shows that he is highly motivated by God and religion, and would use God’s guidance as President. On prayers in schools, he said:

Reinstate in God’s state, in God’s country, the fear and love of God in all schools and organizations and you chill the fear and love of everything else. So that was a plan by the Devil to have our kids committing suicide at an all-time high by removing God, to have murders in Chicago at an all-time high because the human beings working for the Devil removed God and prayer from the schools. That means more drugs, more murders, more suicide.

He is a God-fearing Republican

In the rest of his interview, Kanye West made it clear that he would love to run as a republican. But, that wasn’t possible because Donald Trump will have their ticket as a sitting US President:

I would run as a Republican if Trump wasn’t there. I will run as an independent if Trump is there.

Moreover, Kanye West is a God-fearing man. So much so that he only ever supported Trump because he brought God back in the conversation:

Trump is the closest president we’ve had in years to allowing God to still be part of the conversation.

There were celebrities like Rose McGowan, who were willing to vouch for Kanye as President if he was a socialist anarchist. However, it looks like he is anything but. It is, however, important to note that he is still undecided about a lot of his policies. Moreover, he is even yet to decide if he’ll run for President in 2020 or 2024. And even in that, Kanye is seeking God’s wisdom, as he said:

Let’s see if the appointing is at 2020 or if it’s 2024—because God appoints the president. If I win in 2020 then it was God’s appointment. If I win in 2024 then that was God’s appointment.
