Despite 2020 being an awful year, there is still some good in the world. And that is Netflix’s new show ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’. Ever since the trailer came out, a lot of people had high hopes for the show. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. Netflix managed to paint a decades-old story of The Babysitters Club with a fresh lens and a lively cast. Hence, it got a lot of positive reviews. So, fans and critics alike, are both wondering if there is going to be a The Baby-Sitters Club season 2. Since many are hoping the answer is yes.
Can The Baby-Sitters Club Season 2 happen?
We do not know yet. But it appears that the show is gaining a lot of acclaim. Netflix would take notice of this very fact and probably renew it for another season. Although, Netflix has a bad habit of canceling really good shows just after 1 season, let’s hope that doesn’t hold true for The Baby-Sitters Club.
The possible release date of The Baby-Sitters Club second season
If the show does get renewed for another season, let’s decipher what the possible release date might be. The renewal news for Netflix shows usually come soon in a month or two, especially those that are gaining a lot of popularity.
But considering, even if the news comes in a few months, it will take them around a year for the production of The Baby-Sitters Club season 2. Normally, that would mean we’d see the main gang back on our screens in the hot summer of 2021. It could mean July 2021, or June 2021. Moreover, we must not forget a global pandemic that is delaying productions for a lot of shows and movies in Hollywood right now. It might push The Baby-Sitters Club’s new season to come later in the fall or winter of 2021.
The cast of the second season would probably remain the same
Even though there have been no official announcements of The Baby-Sitters Club season 2, it’ll be likely the same case will be in the new season too. Our main gang would be reprising their roles! Sophie Grace as Kristy Thomas, Momona Tamada as Claudia Kishi, Malia Baker as Mary Anne Spier, Shay Rudolph as Stacey McGill, and Xochitl Gomez as Dawn Schafer. There would the parents as well: Clueless star Alicia Silverstone as Elizabeth Thomas Brewer, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Marc Evan Jackson as Richard Spier, Takayo Fisher as grandmother Mimi and Jessica Elaina Eason as Sharon Porter. Plus, the younger siblings Karen (Sophia Reid-Gantzert), David (Benjamin Goas). In the finale of Baby-Sitters Club, there were two new additions to the Club in Mallory Pike (Vivian Watson) and Jessi Ramsey (Anais Lee). We’ll probably be seeing more of these two girls in the 2nd season.
Let’s see if there are interesting cast additions in the next season.
