We all know about how Kourtney Kardashian was feeling unhappy with the family reality show, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’. It, in fact, led to many fights with her family members. Although her infamous catfight with Kim Kardashian might have been exaggerated for the reality show, it seems like her feelings were based on something genuine. Now, she’s talking about the real reason she did not want to work in KUWTK anymore. This comes after her stepping back from the show is official.

Kourtney Kardashian called working in the reality show toxic

Even though Kourtney was vocal about her dislike for filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, not many took her seriously. Now, she’s elaborated on her feelings while filming for the reality show. With Vogue Arabia, Kourtney shares her what she felt:

“I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years. I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was. Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard. People have this misconception that I don’t want to work, which isn’t true. I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy.”

It seems like Kourtney Kardashian has a complete change in her priorities. At one point, all of her personal life was displayed on the screens for the public to see. Things like her split with Younes Benjima were widely covered on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’.

Kourtney loves motherhood

However, now she prefers keeping her personal life private. She is now treasuring motherhood and is adamant about focusing on her kids, Mason, Reign, and Penelope whom she shares with Scott Disick. Kourtney Kardashian likes to be more present with her kids:

“I always try my absolute best when I’m with my kids not to be on my phone, to be present in what we’re doing, and have those moments where you’re looking in each other’s eyes and connecting. It’s so important. I usually take one day on the weekend when we have no plans, we hang out at the house in pajamas or sweats. We sleep in. I like to not be on a schedule on that day.”

It was hard for Kourtney to detach herself from the show

Kourtney Kardashian also expresses gratitude to KUWTK for giving her so many different opportunities and a lifetime of memories. But it was definitely difficult for her to do so. Her sisters Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian seemed to be ganging up on her on numerous occasions when Kourtney showed resistance to filming for KUWTK.

In fact, one of the arguments was used as a teaser for the season 18 premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The fight got physical with Kim Kardashian slapping Kourtney Kardashian.

Kourtney Kardashian was claiming that it should be okay for her to set boundaries but Kim Kardashian was not ready to accept it.

Regarding that, Kourtney shared in one of the KUWTK episodes that she reached her limit:

“I don’t understand why there’s all this judgment about the way we each want to live our lives. We should be accepted for what we each want to do. It’s not a positive environment for me to want to be in every day when I feel like they’re so critical of me. Every day I’m coming in, I’m like, ‘Why am I choosing to be in this environment?’ And I think I just reached my point of not being able to tolerate it anymore.”

Let’s see if other members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan respond to this.
