Amidst the chaos, people are doing their best to support the Black Lives Matter movement as much as they can. This also includes celebrities like Ariana Grande.

Although stars have been raising their voices about the Black Lives Matter movement, people are expecting them to step up and do more than just be a vocal advocate. However, one celebrity who’s doing everything is Ariana Grande. She has been vocal and has been supporting the movement by her actions as well. This was observed by a fan account who claimed she unfollowed Starbucks on Instagram after the brand’s controversy.

Why Was Ariana Unfollowing Starbucks A Big Deal?

It was reported by Buzzfeed that Starbucks had prohibited Black Lives Matter attire. According to the dress code policy of Starbucks, the employees couldn’t wear anything that supported the BLM movement. However, as someone pointed out, this made very little sense. Starbucks employees had previously been able to wear attire to support the LGBTQA movement.

However, seeing the backlash, Starbucks released a public statement. “As we talked about earlier this week, we’re designing new t-shirts with the graphic below to demonstrate our allyship. And show we stand together in unity. Until these arrive, we’ve heard you want to show your support. So just be you. Wear your BLM pin or t-shirt. We are so proud of your passionate support of our common humanity. We trust you to do what’s right. While never forgetting Starbucks is a welcoming third place where all are treated with dignity and respect.”

Ariana, who has been an avid fan of Starbucks, is still not following the brand. However, she continues to post and share Black Lives Matter content on her social media accounts.
