Scott Pilgrim Anime Project: Edgar Wright Tells It Could Be Possible
Director Edgar Wright has revealed that there is a possibility that Scott Pilgrim Vs The World anime might just happen in the future. It has been 10 years since we saw a graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel turned into a hit movie starring Michael Cera. Now, the director reveals that there is a chance that the movie can turn into anime as well. He said that only discussions are happening and people are revisiting the movie to check the material and content, although there is no final plan right now.
Scott Pilgrim Anime Could Be Real
“There’s some plans – and there’s nothing official yet – but there are some plans to revisit the material in an animation way. We’ve been talking with Bryan and with Jared [LeBoff] for a while [about]: What if we did something with the books in anime form? It’s being discussed as we speak.” – Edgar Wright
Edgar Wright also revealed that, as the discussions about the Scott Pilgrim anime carry on, he has been reimagining what the characters might be doing during the coronavirus pandemic. He sketched an alternate version of Scott Pilgrim with a huge beard, something he thought was funny to imagine.
“I would like to revisit the characters [in comic form] and see what they’re up to. I sketched Scott early in the pandemic with a huge beard. I think that would be a funny image.”
The movie, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is about a slacker guy who is forced into fighting the seven evil exes of his new girlfriend Romona Flowers, who appears to have come out of a videogame. Just this April, Edgar Wright announced that he will be working on a movie adaptation of Set My Heart To Fire. For now, people can only imagine how the Scott Pilgrim anime is going to look like.
