The Titans Are Back To Save The Day
Titans are all set to make a live-action comeback with DC Universe’s soon to air reboot show. The series which compromises of 12 episodes have been picked up by DC’s video on demand service and will premiere on 12th October 2018. New threats await the planet and our group of side heroes must join forces together to form the ‘Titans’ and rescue the world from impending disasters. Hailing from the stables of Warner Bros. and DC, this superhero sci-fi adventure series has been developed by the popular Paranormal Activity and Mind Hunter Director- Producer Avika Goldsman. The Titans have already received a sequel series- yes even before going on air- Doom Patrol will follow from the events where the Titans culminated in 2019.
A brief synopsis mentions: “Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire (Diop), Raven (Croft) and others.”
DC recently dropped multiple teasers of its glorious ensemble of superheroes. Let’s take a look at our very own “they are gonna save the day” squad.
First of all, we are introduced to Starfire. Anna Diop essays the glamorous, glorious, fancy Koriand’r a.k.a Starfire. She is an alien princess who is seeking asylum on Earth – or is being abused or exploited- we only know a little. Diop is a total killer as the elaborately adorned Starfire. Donned in the most glitzy neon attires, Diop takes all in the attention in the footage. She is jazzy, snazzy, and terribly badass. Visibly we could see her not in great control of her powers, but there may be twisted arcs to this presentation. Her pop pink hair, her utter sass, and her brilliant power show, everything is what we call perfection. Basing upon what we have been teased, Diop is very gracefully balancing her hilarious and stern acts. Starfire has always been an essential part of the Titans crew- and Diop is here to validate the realities.
Ayyy Beast Boy!
Second is Beast Boy. Ryan Potter is everything we love- he is cute, he is funny, he is naked, and he is green. Garfield Logan or Beast Boy in this group of superheroes is a real powerhouse, as well as being a comic relief. No wonder Potter has done several teen shows before boarding the Titan ship. He is skilled, extremely and insanely flexible, adequately edgy and sharp. The cure of lethal disease came at an expense of turning Gar into a greenboy. He can now shapeshift into any animal. And do you want to know what his favorite animal is? It is a tiger. The Beast Boy is green and Ryan is evergreen. We sure can’t wait to have him on our screens.
Darkness Of Raven
Is a superhero presentation even a superhero presentation unless it has a few gothic characters? Well, the answer is a big NO. Titans to have found their anti-hero, or rather anti-heroine in the blue-haired Raven. Teagan Croft plays Rachel Roth, a demon child. Croft’s Raven is more emotionally challenged than all the Raven’s we have seen before. While the level of bewilderment and confusion remains intact- this Raven is scary. At least scarier than the sisters who were floating around aimlessly in Conjuring’s The Nun.
Hero of Shadows: Robin
Who is the lead boy? Who is the lead boy? It’s Robin. Robin who? Well, Brenton Thwaites totally nails it as Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson, an orphaned hero of the saga. Now as an adult he works in a circus, but quickly comes along to assemble the Titans under his leadership when the time comes. Trained under the mighty Batman, Robin now wants to escape the shelter of his mentor and prove himself on satisfactory levels. He wants to know more about his true powers, and his parent’s death- much like conventional heroes. But Thwaites does this with much finer prowess and proves himself as a great actor.
