After an old interview of Megan Fox has resurfaced, Michael Bay and Jimmy Kimmell are under fire. The interview suggested predatory behavior and Fox as the victim. However, she has set the record straight and denied the allegations.
Recently, an old interview from Jimmy Kimmell’s show has resurfaced and the internet is abuzz once more.
While on Kimmell’s show, Megan Fox recalled her experience of working with the director, Michael Bay. In a clip that is years old, she talked about working as an extra on Bad Boys II. At the time of the shooting, she was 15 but was dressed in a bikini and heels to look older. However, she could not sit at the bar. While talking about it, she said:
“Michael Bay’s solution to that problem was to then have me dancing under a waterfall getting soaking wet. At 15, I was in 10th grade. That’s sort of a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works.”
In response to that, Jimmy Kimmell said:
“Well that’s really a microcosm of how all our minds work, but some of us have the decency to repress those thoughts and pretend that they don’t exist.”
Since then, people have expressed their anger towards Bay and Kimmell. Some also suggested that Megan Fox had to audition for Transformers in a sexualized way.
However, Megan Fox has denied that Michael Bay behaved inappropriately.
In an Instagram post, Megan Fox has cleared all the rumors about her and Michael Bay. She wrote:
“When it comes to my direct experiences with Michael, and Steven for that matter, I was never assaulted or preyed upon in what I felt was a sexual manner. I was around 15 or 16 years old when I was an extra in Bad Boys II. There are multiple interviews where I shared the anecdote of being chosen for the scene and the conversations that took place surrounding it. It’s important to note however that when I auditioned for Transformers I was 19 or 20.”
Furthermore, she thanked her fans and said:
“Please hear me when I thank you for your support. But these specific instances were inconsequential in a long and arduous journey along which I have endured some genuinely harrowing experiences in a ruthlessly misogynistic industry.”
Whether this statement will satisfy her fans or not, only time will tell.
