In case you didn’t know, a movie about Princess Diana is being made. And after we get over the excitement of finally getting to see more from the life of a globally beloved princess. The question that comes to mind is; Who’s going to play Princess Diana?

However, wonder no more. The role of Princess Diana would be played by Kristen Stewart, as reported by Deadline. Interesting choice, no? But let’s see why.

The film will be set in the early ’90s and will focus more on the exact weekend Princess Diana realized her marriage with Prince Charles wasn’t going to work out. The name of the movie has been decided as Spencer.

Moreover, the film will be directed by Pablo Larraín as it kicks off production in early 2021.

Pablo Larraín Talks Princess Diana And “Spencer”

“Kristin is one of the great actors around today,” Pablo shared. “To do this well, you need something very important in film, which is mystery. Kristin can be many things. And she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well. Which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her.”

Moreover, Pablo continued appreciating the way Kristen responded to the script. He also talked about how the way Kristen decided to approach the character was “beautiful to see.”

“I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time. She is this force of nature,” he continued.

Pablo also spilled the tea on what the film would be focusing on. It won’t revolve around Princess Diana’s tragic death. However, it would be focusing more on the life she had in the Royal family with Prince Charles and the two boys. It will also explore the love she had for her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

As most of us, the director of Spencer is also intrigued by Royal life and can’t wait to explore certain aspects of it in his film.
