I don’t think that I am exaggerating one bit when I say that Paul McCartney is one of the greatest musicians to have ever lived. Most singers can only dream of a career that he has had. First, he was a part of the greatest band of all time, The Beatles. And after that, he went on to have a prolific solo career, releasing songs even when he was 76. That’s what you call infinite talent! So, to celebrate his amazing career, let’s look at 5 of his best songs, but only from the days of The Beatles!

5 best songs by Paul McCartney

Before starting off with this list, I have to tell you that picking just five songs out of Paul’s insane discography is a lot harder than it seems. There are so many songs that you love dearly and have to pick from. So, know that if I forgot any of your favorite Paul McCartney’s songs, please forgive me. So, here are 5 of the best songs Paul McCartney ever wrote!

Hey Jude

I don’t think there’s any song that gives more hope to a person than Paul McCartney’s Hey Jude. Paul wrote this song for John Lennon’s son, Julian Lennon, who Paul was very close to. And because of Lennon’s troubled relationship, Paul thought it best to write a song for him. A song that will help him through troubled times. But, little did Paul McCartney know that this song will become an anthem of hope for the world, along with one of the best songs of all time.

Yesterday

I don’t think any word can do justice to how good this song is. And what makes it even more amazing is that Paul McCartney dreamt the whole thing! Yes, one of the best songs of all time just popped into Paul’s dream! How lucky can one get? Or is he just that creative that he writes songs in his dream? Regardless, it is up there among Paul McCartney’s best songs of all time.

Blackbird

The tunes of this song are so simple, yet resonate with your soul so well. This song was dedicated to the civil rights movement, especially the black girls fighting for their rights in America. But, this song can perfectly be used for the Black Lives Matter Movement or any movement that strives for freedom. The lyrics, the tune, and the meaning easily make this one of the best Paul McCartney’s songs of all time.

Let It Be

Again, another song that came in Paul McCartney’s dream. But, this was different than any other, as his dead mother sang him these words. It was a time when Paul McCartney and the Beatles were too much into drugs. And these words of comfort from his mother turned into one of the best songs ever made.

The Long and Winding Road

This is the last song we heard from Paul McCartney as a member of the Beatles. But, I have to say, the piano, orchestra, lyrics, and his voice – everything was magnificent. Even though he was slightly unhappy with how this song was recorded, he still managed to pull off one of his best songs ever.

So, these are the 5 best songs of Paul McCartney that we want to share with you on his 78th birthday. We wish Paul a very happy birthday and that there be many many many more of them. Which songs do you believe should have been on this list? Let us know in the comments below.
