Jordan Peele Shares Support For John Boyega
After the four Minneapolis cops brutally murder George Floyd, the entire world has joined in protests against racism. Similarly, Star Wars actor, John Boyega addressed the protesters in London and gave a powerful speech. Since then, Jordan Peele and many Hollywood filmmakers, actors, and celebrities have come forward in his support.
During a peaceful protest in London, John Boyega made history with his speech.
While America is on the streets for the Black Lives Matter movement, it is not alone. The rest of the world is standing right behind them. Similarly, a peaceful BLM protest took place in London a few days ago. Among others, Star Wars star, John Boyega joined the protest. While addressing his fellow protesters, he emphasized on the importance of BLM movement and unity. He said:
“Every black person understands and realizes the first time you were reminded that you were black. I need you guys to understand how painful this shit is. I need you to understand how painful it is to be reminded every day that your race means nothing. And that isn’t the case any more. That is never the case any more. We’re gonna try today.”
While he urged the protesters to stay focused on the movement and keep the peace, he also showed solidarity with George Floyd and all others. During his speech, John Boyega also mentioned that he might not have a career after this but refused to stand down.
After his speech went viral, Jordan Peele and others praised him.
As soon as his video went viral, the filmmaker and actors reassured him that he need not worry about his career. US director, Jordan Peele tweeted:

His tweet led to others coming forward in support of John Boyega. Among others, Birds Of Prey director Cathy Yan, Hamilton creator, and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, Olivia Wilde, Edgar Wright, Black Mirror’s Charlie Brooker, Christopher Miller, Seth Grahame-Smith vowed to stand behind him. Indeed, it is a perfect example of how you can be an ally in the Black Lives Matter movement.
