George Floyd’s Daughter Misses Him, ‘Dad Changed the World’
Last week, another innocent life was lost in a heinous act of racism. After George Floyd’s video went viral, the entire world came out to protest. Recently, George Floyd’s daughter expressed her emotions in an interview and said she misses him.
Although the cops have been charged with second-degree murder, people are still protesting.
After a deli owner accused him of giving a fake 20 dollar bill, George Floyd was arrested by the police. Instead of taking him to the station, the cops murdered him while he kept saying that he could not breathe. Derek Chauvin put his knee on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes. While some cops stood nearby, others kept Floyd on the ground by force. When a passerby made a video and put it on the internet, it went viral immediately. Since then, America is protesting, rioting, and facing police brutality. However, all the four cops involved in the incident have been charged with second-degree murder. No matter what, George Floyd’s daughter and family cannot get him back.
In an interview with Good Morning America, George Floyd’s daughter talked about her father.
Gianna Floyd, six years old, said that she missed him. Furthermore, George Floyd’s daughter said that her dad changed the world. Apart from George Floyd’s daughter, his wife, Roxie Washington also talked lovingly about her husband. She described him as a loving and doting father. She said:
“Gianna didn’t have to play with nobody else because Daddy was gonna play with her all day long. That was his baby. He loved his little girl.”
When asked if she has seen the video, Washington said:
“I watched only for a moment because I was like I can’t believe… I couldn’t believe that somebody was doing him like that. I wish I coulda been there to help him.”
Tearfully, Washington admitted that George Floyd’s daughter does not know what happened to him. In the future, Gianna knows exactly what she wants to be when she grows up.
“I want to be a doctor and want to take care of people.”
