Madonna Under Fire By Fans For ‘Insensitive’ George Floyd Death Post
Pop singer Madonna appeared in the highlight of George Floyd’s death at the wrong time. Her intentions might be pure, but the timing apparently was off as she came under fire for paying a simple tribute. Minneapolis is being run down by protests as people show anger towards a cop killing (yet another) person of color for the minor inconvenience caused. As people hold riot for the past couple of days, Madonna decided to choose her side, which suddenly turned out to be her failed attempt. On social media, #GeorgeFloydProtest and #MinneapolisRiot are currently trending on Twitter.
Madonna’s Wrong Move?
George Floyd died after receiving injuries from a policeman kneeling down on his neck. For that, Madonna made an Instagram post. She videoed her 14-year-old son David Banda dancing to Michael Jackson’s ‘They Don’t Care About Us’. Along with the video, she wrote:
“As news of George Floyds brutal murder travels around the world my son David Dances to honor and pay tribute to George and His Family and all Acts of Racism and Discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America.”
Unfortunately, her tribute to George Floyd’s death turned sour when fans started commenting underneath it. Rex Chapman found it ‘weird’ for Madonna asking her black son to dance in the kitchen to Jackson’s song:
Another fan called Madonna straight up insensitive for simply posting a video when she could do so much more:
A bit insensitive as you’re a person with a platform to voice their concern, you should be doing a lot more… having your adopted black son dance ain’t going to force change to happen

Here is another:

As you can see, the comments under Madonna’s video mostly voice the same thing: she could have done so much more rather than simply posting a video of her son dancing.
On Monday, May 25, George Floyd died after a white policeman, Derek Chauvin, pinned him down by kneeling on the back of his neck. The video running viral on social media also contains Floyd complaining that he cannot breathe. Now, as per the update, former officer Chauvin has been arrested after getting fired from the job along with three others.
