With the launch of HBO Max, the viewers can expect exciting new content. Among others, Chelsea Handler is getting geared up to bring a new stand-up comedy special for her fans. She will be returning to her roots after six years.

From hosting to acting, to writing to comedy, there is nothing she cannot do.

Although she started her career with reality TV, Girls Behaving Badly, Chelsea Handler has come a long way. Before hosting the successful E! show, Chelsea Lately, she went on Comedy Central’s Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour across America. On her show, she interviewed several celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Jay Leno, Sharon Osbourne, and Jane Fonda. In 2014, the show came to an end and Chelsea Handler embraced other projects. Last year, she appeared in a Netflix documentary called Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea. The premise of her hilarious documentary was white privilege as well as Handler’s inner journey.

Recently, HBO Max announced that Chelsea Handler will return to stand-up comedy.

In 2014, she appeared on Netflix’s special, Uganda Be Kidding Me: Live. However, she did not do any stand-up comedy after that. Therefore, Chelsea Handler’s return after six years have spread joy among her fans. During this comedy special, she will share her experiences of family and friendships as well as therapy. She will reflect on how going to therapy helped her understand her annoyance with most people. All in all, it will be about Chelsea Handler and her journey to self-awareness aided by weed. According to Suzanna Makkos, executive vice president of original comedy and animation for HBO Max:

“No one makes me laugh like Chelsea and we are thrilled to partner with her on this long-awaited return to stand-up. We feel lucky to be able to share with our audience her evolution and personal growth that she relays so beautifully in this hour special.”

On the other hand, Handler said:

“I didn’t want to return to stand-up until I had something important to say. I do now. I’m absolutely delighted to be doing this with HBO Max and always excited to be reunited with Bob Greenblatt. One of the only executives I can never have s*x with.”
