Reality check ! For me. No – the Virus didn’t get me yet – thank God. Hope you’re all keeping extra-safe out there. A decision to relax controls doesn’t suddenly make the danger go away. But me ?? Yes, I’ve been quiet. Reason ? As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands … I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening. So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I’ve actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job – this is a couple of days ago – and I won’t be able to walk for a while … or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless. So, folks … I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest, at home. Please, please don’t send me sympathy – I just need some healing silence for a while. I’ll be back – but I need the complete break. OK ? Thanks. Take care out there. Bri

Along with Freddie Mercury, May is the founding member of Queen

If you are a fan of rock music, you will be familiar with Queen’s Brian May and his other band members. While the band is most famous because of the lead vocalist, Freddie Mercury, May played an equal part in its impressive reputation. From We Will Rock You to The Show Must Go On, Queen’s Brian May has been the lead guitarist. After Mercury’s death in 1991, May wrote a tribute song for him, No one But You. He has also made Rolling Stone’s list of Greatest Guitarists of All Time at no 26. In 2018, he served as a creative and musical consultant for Bohemian Rhapsody, a biographical film of the members of Queen.

Recently, Queen’s Brian May informed his fans that he almost died after a heart attack.

Last month, May faced a gardening injury which led to ripped muscle and trapped nerve. In order to get treatment, he was rushed to the hospital. However, amid treatment, Queen’s Brian May suffered a heart attack. In an Instagram video, he shared his experience with his fans. He said:

‘I told you I had a ripped muscle and that was the way I was diagnosed and we thought it was like a bizarre gardening accident… and kind of forgot anything to do with the bum people find amusing… but anyway, it turned out to be not really the case.’

However, the pain and suffering did not end there for Queen’s Brian May. While continuing his story, he said:

‘But the rest of the story is a little more bizarre. I was shocked, I thought I was a healthy guy. Everyone says I’ve got a great blood pressure and I keep fit, I bike, good diet. I had – in the middle of the whole saga of the painful backside – I had a small heart attack.’

Despite his doctors suggesting an open heart surgery, he had stents put in his heart. In the end, he said:

‘Anyway, I didn’t die, I came out, and I would have been full of beans if it weren’t for the leg. I’m very grateful that I now have a life to lead again. I was very near death because of this, but the pain that I had was from something very different. It’s funny how these things work. But I’m good. I’m here. And I’m ready to rock. Please don’t send me sympathies, because I’m good. God bless.’

We wish his a speedy recovery and a long, healthy life!
